Apple Auto Glass Announces Winner of ‘Cash Your Chips In’ Event
For the Prince Edward Island Command of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Apple Auto Glass® Cash Your Chips in Event was more than a marketing success. It was a gift that comes as a much needed surprise.
The winner of the national-yet-community-focused Apple Auto Glass® promotion was Bill Power – a proud resident of Montague and winner of the $10,000 grand prize. The unique nature of this promotion was that the winnings would be split between the winner and their charity of choice. In Bill Power’s case, this was the Royal Canadian Legion.
“It’s a great opportunity to pay tribute to a friend of mine who passed on, George Mill, a member of the Legion and my old horseshoe partner”, said Mr. Power. “He was always involved helping to raise money with the Poppy campaigns, so it was nice to be able to do this.”
The $5,000, like a donation of any amount, is a welcomed gift for the Prince Edward Island Legion.
“It really is terrific,” says an appreciative Dianne Kennedy, the 1st Vice President of the PE Command of the Royal Canadian Legion. “It’s is a great story; we really want to, both, congratulate Mr. Power, and thank him for such a wonderful, thoughtful gift.”
More than the nation-wide sales lift that Cash Your Chips in Event generated, the charitable story is what resonates most with the Apple Auto Glass® team. “We are all local owners and operators in our communities, so we get to see first hand the effect initiatives like this can have”, said Wade Bryanton, owner of three Apple Auto Glass locations on Prince Edward Island. “Across the country, we all feel that making a difference in our community is, ultimately, good for business. It takes a lot of extra effort, and we’ve certainly seen that from General Manager, Wendall MacMaster as well as his assistant manager, Billy White, who worked very hard at the Montague location which opened in 1988.”
