ADAS System Recalibration

These days, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are included in virtually every car. But it takes an expert to make sure that they remain properly calibrated for optimal use. Staying sharp while sharing the road is everyone’s responsibility – let’s make sure your car’s safety systems are ready to roll.

Often, a vehicle relies on a camera located on the windshield. That means, when you replace your glass, it’s also important to have that camera recalibrated by the experts. And we know what it takes to keep your car up to speed.

You could be covered. Check with your insurance company – most cover recalibration costs with your windshield replacement claim.

ADAS Features Examples

Many of your car’s ADAS systems rely on the windshield camera. Emergency braking, forward collision warning and lane assistance are all ADAS systems that rely on proper recalibration.

1) Forward Collision Warning
Warns the driver with an audible or visual signal when a collision is imminent.

2) Forward Automatic Emergency Braking (FAEB)
Warns the driver with an audible/visual signal when a collision is imminent, automatically applying the brakes.

3) Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
Warns the driver with an audible or visual signal when the vehicle is about to deviate from its traffic lane.

4) Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA)
Warns the driver with an audible or visual signal when the vehicle is about to deviate from its traffic lane, and automatically steers the vehicle back into its lane.

5) Adaptive Cruise Control
Adjusts speed to keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front.

Smart Cars Today, Autonomous Cars Tomorrow

In fact, nowadays these safety systems are part of most vehicle models, not only the luxury vehicle models. One in five vehicles on the road is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and industry experts agree that fully autonomous vehicles will be driving on our roads by 2030.

Steering You In the Right Direction

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), often connected to the camera located on the windshield behind the rearview mirror, capture data on the road. Whenever a windshield is replaced, the camera must be recalibrated to ensure the well-functioning of the ADAS systems. At Apple Auto Glass®, camera recalibration is done using:

  • Precision cutting-edge tools, which are exclusive to Bosch® and developed to meet car manufacturer’s standards.
  • Trained, certified and experienced technicians who have performed this procedure on thousands of vehicles.
  • Our network which extends across the country.
